We are headquartered in Seattle, but are open to a remote location depending on role and if a candidate resides within the United States in a state in which we currently employ.
The Job
As a Data Warehouse Engineer at Omnidian, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our data infrastructure. You will drive strategy, planning, and execution to develop and maintain our data warehouse, ensuring high standards of quality and security. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our data capabilities, supporting our mission to build a more sustainable future through innovative technology and exceptional customer experience.

What You'll Do

  • At Omnidian we believe in trust and autonomy. How you create an impact is ultimately up to you. Here is an outline of some of the things you’ll be doing:
  • Data Engineering (50%)
  • Build and maintain data warehouse pipelines.
  • Provide guidance and standards for data pipelines to support data-driven decision making.
  • Use your knowledge of different programming languages to code and update data systems.
  • Data Stewardship (20%)
  • Act as a steward for the strategic data that is at the heart of Omnidian’s service offering and be an ambassador for data governance and security.
  • Contribute to and maintain Data Governance standards, processes and documentation.
  • Data Platform (15%)
  • Own security, scalability, recoverability, performance and availability of our structured and unstructured data platforms.
  • ITIL/Information Security (15%)
  • Contribute and adhere to ITIL and Information Security Processes and Procedures.
  • Provide backup support to our Information Security Analyst.

Experience You'll Need

  • 2+ years building and optimizing data sets, ‘big data’ data pipelines, and architectures.
  • Proven ability to perform root cause analysis on processes and data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience with data transformation, workload management, and metadata.
  • Familiarity with Data Governance concepts.
  • Familiarity with various database platforms and the use cases for each.

Experience That's a Plus

  • Experience working with Cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Database administration experience for structured and/or unstructured big data platforms.
  • Experience with data migration projects.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and testing disaster recovery strategies for data hosted in the cloud.
  • Experience supporting CICD pipelines.
