The Job
The Commercial Technical Asset Manager will monitor and manage assigned distributed generation solar assets, to ensure optimal performance for their clients solar photovoltaic (PV) asset portfolio, as well as energy storage projects. This role will report to the Manager, Commercial Operations, while also working closely with the entire Commercial Operations Team. The qualified candidate will work independently as the primary point of contact for their assigned clients, will be responsible for all activities from the initial client & asset onboarding, manage and deliver reporting obligations, provide technical support to clients and service technicians, and support sales and product development initiatives. This role requires a detail oriented self-starter skilled at managing multiple tasks and priorities, and has a proven track record of excellent customer service and client communications skills.
What You’ll Do

- Oversee a portfolio of 100-200 MW of distributed solar assets, driving efficiency and maximizing output (post-installation and PTO).
- Experienced in using various solar monitoring platforms(DAS).
- Configure and adjust monitoring parameters and alerts.
- Analyze alerts within DAS platforms and provide asset owners with informed recommendations for necessary corrective actions.
- Identify performance trends and spot performance issues in commercial solar systems 15 kW up to 20 MW.
- Create and monitor Work Orders to address detected issues, collaborating closely with your manager, the FSN team, and partners to ensure timely resolution and closure.
- Facilitate effective communication with internal and external stakeholders; resolve escalated issues.
- Track client reporting obligations to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Support efforts to continuously identify, document, and adopt best practices and standardized operating procedures.
- Help identify features and improvements for Omnidian’s proprietary platform. Cross-train team members in DAS portals and energy simulation tools.
- Actively manage a portfolio of renewable energy assets throughout the lifecycle
- Collaborate with the Client Success Manager to welcome new clients to Omnidian and support all onboarding tasks.
- Partner with our Client Success team to strategize for client growth opportunities and quarterly business reviewsProvide professional expertise around preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize production.
- Provide professional summary and deep explanation, as needed, of monthly asset performance Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting: Utilize your technical prowess to resolve system issues, working closely with equipment, inverter, and DAS technical support.
- Foster and strengthen relationships with stakeholders from site owners to facilities personnel, cementing Omnidian's reputation for reliability and excellence.
- Create and manage work orders for planned and unplanned service activities.
- Provide service reports to demonstrate not only what we've achieved in the field but also what next steps are required
- Coordinate external field service resources to ensure peak performance and minimize downtime, leaving no room for inefficiencies.
- Manage RMA processes and replacement of faulty components, including delivery and returns of equipment.
- Dispatch subcontracted O&M services for both planned maintenance and reactive issues with the agility of a true operations maestro.
- Possibility of travel up to 2 times per year to visit high-priority clients and build long-lasting relationships

Experience You’ll Need
- 8+ years of professional experience in the solar energy industry, showcasing a history of leadership in account management, asset management, operations, and maintenance & field service coordination.
- 5+ years of experience must be in Commercial asset management tracking priorities, deadlines, and response times based on production loss and asset size
- 3+ years of Commercial experience in the field working on or with Commercial Assets
- Proven experience in client success, customer service, or account management, where you've demonstrated exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Deep understanding of solar monitoring DAS platforms (examples: AlsoEnergy & SolarEdge), and the ability to interpret solar system design drawings.
- A deep understanding of solar technology, monitoring systems, maintenance practices, and the solar industry landscape.
- Experience in Battery Storage technologies, showcasing your versatility and adaptability in this rapidly evolving field.
- NABCEP Courses under your belt are a must. A NABCEP Certification is an extra feather in your cap that demonstrates your commitment to excellence in solar energy.
- OSHA 10 Certification is required
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or work experience equivalent
