About the role

You will play a key role in leading the sales efforts for Abatable’s market intelligence platform. This is a role for a proven SAAS or data business development manager capable of managing a large pipeline across multiple industries.

You will drive growth, build client relationships, and consistently deliver exceptional results. Reporting to the Head of Business Development in the UK, you will be responsible for developing and managing deals throughout the entire sales cycle and influencing the direction of product development.

What you’ll be doing

  • Generating new opportunities through outbound activities be it cold prospecting, attending events, or leveraging the network of our employees and associates
  • Progressing new and existing deals through demoing and trials to closing, leveraging MEDDPICC sales methodology
  • Identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and partnering with colleagues to close carbon credit procurement opportunities
  • Consistently achieve your quarterly sales targets and KPIs
  • Become Abatable’s go-to expert for the Market Intelligence Platform
  • Accurately track and update opportunities in our CRM to help manage your time, prioritise deals and ensure the business can accurately forecast
  • Support in analysing CRM data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and launch campaigns
  • Collaborate with our product teams to share feedback, and what’s working / not working in order to direct the product roadmap
  • Find new ways to improve conversion rate through the sales process, such as iterating the demo and trial process, setting customer KPIs, and scheduling meetings.
  • Support other BD team colleagues with Market Intelligence training and attending their key prospect/customer meetings.

Who we’re looking for

  • Sales Expertise: An established Business Development Manager with a strong B2B sales track record and SAAS background:
    • Senior Business Development Manager should have 7+ years of sales experience working with complex sales in Top-Tier Corporates
    • Business Development Manager should have 5+ years of B2B sales experience
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong preference for experience in the voluntary carbon markets or financial services, with an understanding of topics such as pricing, supply & demand, quality and policy.
  • Negotiation skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrated by a consistent ability to close complex deals and exceed sales targets.
  • Problem Solver: Deep empathy for customer challenges, with a proactive approach to resolving them and motivating others to collaborate on solutions.
  • Self-Starter: Takes initiative and thrives in early-stage, fast-growing startup environments.
  • High integrity: Committed to doing what’s right, even when it’s not the easiest route.
