What's Curo?

We’re a 6 person startup on a mission to accelerate electrification. We’re creating the first “Virtual Depot” platform for fleet vehicles, helping fleets to electrify at a fraction of the cost and time, whilst providing key utilization to existing EV charging and parking asset owners.

It’s critical for our planets sustainability to rapidly scale commercial fleet and asset electrification, but it’s just not that easy. Building charging infrastructure as a fleet is expensive, takes time and in a lot of cases isn’t possible. Conversely, there are now legal requirements for a variety of properties such as office buildings, multi-family dwellings, etc. To offer charging to their customers. Yet, ensuring a return on investment for these assets is difficult. To efficiently scale, we need mass visibility, stakeholder management and collaboration...enter Curo.

What's the role?

As the Virtual Depot Associate, you will be the third member of the Virtual Depot team, responsible for finding, contracting with and converting private EV charging and parking sites into fleet ready Virtual Depots. You will work directly with the CEO and Virtual Depot Lead to build Curo from the ground up, together:

  • This is a Business Development focused role, solely responsible for identifying existing EV charging and parking assets in response to fleet requests in specific geographies.
  • Once you’ve identified the assets, you will package them for the Virtual Depot Lead to continue conversion, alongside likely continuing conversion yourself too.
  • You will also work on strategy and operations, as well as literally anything that comes up in between, there is no task too big or too small.
  • Your day could include data collection, cold calls or emails, talking to our largest customers or flying to an obscure US city to conduct a site search.
  • Interact daily with customers - intently listen and thoughtfully learn how we can continue to solve our partners’ problems.
  • Identify, manage and onboard customers which can range massively from huge corporations to family run businesses.
  • Support the team in all outreach, data capture and analysis exercises.
  • Use your intuition to act quickly by being proactive, learning with the team.

Who are we looking for?

  • First and foremost, a background in EVs, fleet or commercial real estate whilst beneficial is not a requirement. If you’re a rockstar with grind, hustle and humility then we want to hear from you.
  • Prior experience as a founder or on a founding team is preferred but not essential.
  • You need to be comfortable with constant context switching and new tasks - including manual data capture, cold calls and emails. Overall, gorilla sales and marketing techniques, we are not looking for the faint of heart.
  • You are a team player that simply wants to grow, learn and likely sacrifice evenings and weekends at the office to build Curo.
  • You take an empathetic, collaborative approach to creation. We’re obsessed with our customers, their feedback and experience.
  • You take extreme autonomy and operate with a high level of ownership and pride because you’re deeply self-motivated.
  • You are resilient with a growth mindset - being able to fall, learn, dust yourself off and get back up again.
  • Above all else, you have a strong intuition and ask for forgiveness rather than permission.

What can you expect?

  • A strongly held and value aligned team - we have humility, agency, and and iterative mindset that’s all held together by trust.
  • A fast paced and entrepreneurial, fun environment.
  • All in founders with a lot of hustle and grind.
  • Customer/product centric approaches.
  • A lot of autonomy.
  • Learning through failure.
  • Team dinners, lunches, spikeball and ping pong.
  • Working side by side out of an awesome office in SF.
  • Building a company from the ground up.
  • Radical honesty and transparency backed by good communication.
  • A competitive salary based on location and company stage with a large equity component.
